Georgia head coach Kirby Smart identified the pricey sideline disturbance charge in Thursday's 23-10 Sugar Bowl loss as “regrettable.
The Bulldogs were evaluated a 15-yard charge that minimized a 67-yard passing conclusion to Arian Smith. The charge took place when a referee hit non-active walk-on Parker Jones, who was commemorating the interesting play.

Georgia would be pressed back to the Notre Dame 26-yard line after formerly reaching the 11-yard line and would choose a basket on the drive. Following the video game, Smart acknowledged that while the charge hurt, the group still didn't perform effectively.
“Very regrettable,” Smart stated, per Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald“I believe it was a gamer, from what I've been informed, in the white, and the white is scheduled for the authorities. That's a security issue. The majority of the time, they'll give you a caution on that, however it was not– it was a circumstance where it cost us 15 lawns. We still had very first and 10 and didn't benefit from it.”
The loss can be found in the quarterfinal round of the College Football Playoff and ended the Bulldogs' season with a last record of 10-3.
While this play was regrettable, it did take place in the 2nd quarter and the Bulldogs had various opportunities to press back versus the Fighting Irish. Rather, Notre Dame restricted Georgia to simply 296 lawns and required them to go 2-of-12 on 3rd down and 0-of-3 on 4th down.
The Bulldogs will now view from afar for the rest of the season and concentrate on discipline and effectiveness in 2025.
