Caleb Williams Was Fired Up After Bears Drafted Him With No. 1 Pick

The Chicago Bears officially selected Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday, something that had been established as a foregone conclusion leading up to draft night in Detroit.

Despite the selection coming as absolutely no surprise, Williams was full of emotion as he walked onto the stage, bellowing out in excitement before exchanging a hug with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

It was a special moment for the 22-year-old, and he swelled with pride as he put on the Bears cap for the first time and held the jersey in front of him while posing with Goodell.

Chicago has lofty expectations for the franchise’s quarterback of the future, and he seems determined to live up to the hype that’s surrounded him coming out of USC.

Last season with the Trojans, Williams completed 68.6% of his pass attempts, racking up 3,633 yards, 30 touchdown passes and just five interceptions.

He’s the third quarterback the Bears have drafted in the first round since 2017, following Mitchell Trubisky with the No. 2 pick in ’17 and Justin Fields with the No. 11 pick in ’21.
