EA apparently turned down propositions to produce a brand name brand-new Dead Space video game.
Glen Schofield – who directed the initial video game and went on to co-found both Sledgehammer Games and Callisto Protocol studio, Striking Distance – stated that EA closed down a proposition for “Dead Space 4”, stating it wasn't “interested today”.
The news follows EA's launch of the critically-acclaimed Dead Space Remake in January 2023, however unpredictability over the franchise's future.

“We attempted really, you understand, the 3 people. We attempted Dead Space 4,” Schofield stated in an interview with Dan Allen Gaming, together with his previous coworkers, imaginative director Bret Robbins and animation director Christopher Stone. “We're talking this year.”
“We didn't go unfathomable. They simply stated, no, we're not interested today, we value it, blah blah, and you understand, we understand who to talk with, so we didn't take it any even more, and we appreciated their viewpoint. They understand their numbers and what they need to deliver and all that, so …”
“All 3 people took a seat and wished to do it,” Stone included. “The market remains in an odd location today. Individuals are truly reluctant to take possibilities on things, so you've got to take it with a grain of salt, who understands, possibly one day. I believe we ‘d all like to do it.”
“Yeah, we've got some concepts,” Schofield teased.
When asked by Allen if they ‘d truly go back to the scary series, Stone stated: “I ‘d make a Dead Space 4,” and Schofield merely stated: “Yes.”
When Bret Robbins didn't state anything, Schofield explained that Robbins had “a great video game going” offered he was “having a good time” dealing with Dan Houser at Absurd Ventures.
Previously this year, rumours swirled that regardless of the Dead Space Remake's important recognition, the entire series was supposedly “on ice”.
