Jan Blachowicz will not be back in the octagon for a while.
On Saturday, the previous UFC light heavyweight champ published an upgrade on his health on social networks, 2 weeks after revealing that he was taking out of a rematch with Aleksandar Rakic set up for UFC 297 on Jan. 20.
Blachowicz pointed out an injury to his shoulders that would need surgical treatment. Now, it appears that he’ll need to await both shoulders to be looked after having the ideal one just recently run on.
See Blachowicz’s post listed below.
Shoulder run on. There was too much work to do with one, so they could not repair both at when. Another surgical treatment quickly. I’ll need to wait a little bit longer to come back.

“First shoulder run on,” Blachowicz composed. “Unfortunately, there was excessive work to do with one, so they could not repair both simultaneously. Another surgical treatment quickly. I’ll need to wait a little bit longer to come back.”
2 months shy of his 41st birthday, it’s uncertain when Blachowicz will remain in battling shape once again. He most just recently battled at UFC 291 this previous July, where he dropped a narrow split choice to future champ Alex Pereira. Prior to that, the previous light heavyweight champ came close to restoring his title after combating Magomed Ankalaev to a split draw at UFC 282 with an uninhabited belt on the line.
Rakic has actually currently been re-booked after losing his UFC 297 clash with Blachowicz. He battles Jiri Prochazka at UFC 300 in Las Vegas on April 13.
