Kenneth Mitchell, who played the Klingons Kol, Kol-Sha and Tenavik and the character of Aurellio on “Star Trek Discovery,” passed away on Saturday. Mitchell was 49 years of ages. His household shared on X (previously Twitter) that he passed away from ALS-related issues.

“With aching hearts we reveal the death of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, precious daddy, other half, sibling, uncle, kid and dear pal,” the household started in a series of tweets.
The household included, “For 5 and a half years Ken dealt with a series of terrible difficulties from ALS. And in truest Ken style, he handled to increase above every one with grace and dedication to living a complete and wondrous life in each minute.”
Mitchell played 3 Klingons in the very first 2 seasons of “Star Trek: Discovery.” As his condition advanced, he played the character Aurellio, who utilized a wheelchair.
The star shared his medical diagnosis of ALS in February 2020. In an interview with People, he discussed, “The minute that they informed us it was [ALS]it resembled I remained in my own motion picture. That’s what it seemed like, like I was seeing that scene where somebody is being informed that they have a terminal disease. It was simply a total shock, a shock.”
He included, “I do keep in mind there was something truly easy and stunning in a manner, how my partner and I remained in the trenches together, and how we from this minute on we’re needing to handle something so serious that was going to impact our lives permanently. We grieved and grieved actually difficult. There was a lot unknown.”
Mitchell’s extra credits consist of “Jericho,” 2019’s “Captain Marvel,” and the Ralph Cox biopic “Miracle.”
Mitchell was born in Toronto, Canada, on Nov. 25, 1974. In their online obituary, his household composed that while he was understood to lots of as a star, “to those near to him he was referred to as a hope hunter, daydreamer, dream follower, soccer gamer, beach walker, bear hugger, landscape designer, garden grower, canoe paddler, delighted camper, nature explorer, feline fan, contagious laugher, present provider, note sender, motion picture goer, art maker, music listener, sports lover, in-depth specific, Leafs advocate, world tourist, uncle joker, more youthful sibling, Susan’s partner, and more than anything else, a happy dad.”
Mitchell’s household likewise explained him as “an enormous star taking off with compassion, pureness and a specific brand name of ridiculous” and included, “One of his most capitivating qualities as a buddy is that Ken enjoyed to see others shine. He was a conductor of linking buddies together and completely delighted in triggering a great story.”
