The plot unfolds at the end of April 2020, in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown. The authorities detain a guy implicated of killing numerous homeless individuals one after another on the streets of Barcelona.

The murders all share a typical pattern because they were all dedicated while the victims lay sleeping and were constantly devoted with severe cruelty.

With this proposition, and in the context of a deserted and locked down city, Arcarazo establishes the concept for “Quiet,” making use of the double entendre of both the soft voices of the homeless and the quiet however lethal infection contaminating its victims.

Thesps Verdaguer and Cervantes play the group of murder investigators in charge of the examination, their closest circle of family and friends, and those required to reside on the streets of Barcelona for whom there is no hope of running away from evil of any kind.

Laura Fernández Espeso, Javier Méndez, Arcarazo and Bernat Elías are executive manufacturers for The Mediapro Studio, while Oriol Sala-Patau and Conxa Orea executive produce for 3Cat.

Scripted fiction and documentary director Marta Pahissa– credited in productions such as Movistar Plus+’s “Rapa,” Netflix’s “Smiley” and RTVE-The Mediapro Studio’s “Ser o no ser,” to name a few– will direct the series, whose shooting is set up to get underway in Barcelona in the coming weeks.

“With ‘Quiet’ we’re taking the thriller to another level. The series embraces a timeless narrative design, indebted to some degree to the grand masters of modern movie theater like David Fincher and Michael Mann, drawing impact from movies such as ‘Seven,’ ‘Zodiac’ and ‘Collateral,’ or like ‘Mindhunter,’ supplying a minutely in-depth intro into the examination of comparable criminal activities in the context of a less than stunning Barcelona, albeit interesting in its representation and photography,” stated Javier Méndez, The Mediapro Studio head of movie theater and co-head of tv.
