‘Look, no wires’! This color E-Ink display is the first device I’ve seen that uses truly contactless wireless power

While there were many E Ink color displays on show in the digital signage section of ISE 2025, the Wi-Poster caught TechRadar Pro’s attention as the only one that uses wireless power.Available in a range of sizes from 13in up to 40 inches, it’s the first working product we’ve seen that uses wireless power at a distance. One man who saw it working at the same time as us described it as ‘magic’, and we’d have to agree.(Image credit: ISE 2025/Benny Har-Even)Ori Mor, CEO and founder of Wi-Charge, told TechRadar Pro wireless power means that not only can businesses put the Wi-Poster wherever they want, but wireless power means it is effectively permanently powered. This means images can be updated over Wi-Fi as many times as needed, without having to worry about ever having to connect it to a por...

Sprinklr cuts 500 employees, citing underwhelming business performance

Sprinklr, a U.S. firm providing a customer experience management platform to global brands, has laid off about 15% of its workforce — around 500 employees — due to business performance not meeting expectations, the company confirmed to TechCrunch. The new layoffs come less than a year after the company cut about 3% of its workforce in May and after it earlier reduced its headcount by 4% in 2023. The two earlier layoffs impacted roughly 200 employees altogether. The New York-headquartered company, which counts Microsoft, P&G, and Samsung among over 1,800 global customers, started notifying affected employees about the cuts this week, TechCrunch learned and confirmed with the company. “We will refocus and rebalance our investments, talent, and resources in order to better serve our ...

AMD promises mainstream 4K gaming on Radeon RX 9070 series in early March

Serving tech enthusiasts for over 25 years. TechSpot means tech analysis and advice you can trust. Something to look forward to: AMD has yet to release full technical specifications for its upcoming Radeon RX 9000-series graphics cards. However, the company recently revealed more about the lineup's intended performance profile and market segment. If the price is right, the new GPUs might compare favorably to Nvidia's upcoming RTX 5070 Ti, 5070, and 5060 early next month. AMD CEO Lisa Su has confirmed that the company's new Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT GPUs will launch in early March. She indicated that the two products aim to make high-quality 4K gaming possible at mainstream prices. During a recent fourth-quarter earnings call, Su reiterated AMD's promise that its new RDNA...

OnePlus may launch a compact flagship smartphone

Joe Maring / Digital Trends OnePlus may be planning to release another entry into its OnePlus 13 range, and it may be substantially different to other mainstream smartphones. It’s potentially going to be called the OnePlus 13 Mini, and as the name suggests, it’ll be smaller than the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R already available. Is interest in the “compact flagship smartphone” about to see (another) resurgence? The latest about the unreleased phone concerns the camera, which will apparently feature two 50-megapixel sensors, arranged in a vertical “bar” module on the back of the phone. The main 50MP camera is likely to be joined by a 50MP telephoto for a 2x optical zoom. This comes from the Digital Chat Station Weibo account, a well-known source of information on ...

These are set to be the weekend’s 3 biggest movies

DOG MAN | Official Trailer Following its better-than-expected performance at the domestic box office last weekend when it took a whopping $36 million, Dreamworks’ Dog Man is expected to do well again this coming weekend, raking in more than any other movie. The animated adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s graphic novel book series is expected to earn between $16 million and $20 million, according to a forecast by Boxoffice Pro. Universal Pictures describes the family flick thus: “When a faithful police dog and his human police officer owner are injured together on the job, a harebrained but life-saving surgery fuses the two of them together and Dog Man is born. Volkswagen claims it’s actually making that $20,000 EV and will show it next month

Wes Davis is a weekend editor who covers the latest in tech and entertainment. He has written news, reviews, and more as a tech journalist since 2020.Volkswagen has announced that next month, it will show off a new low-cost, entry-level EV that could cost just €20,000 (about $20,800 USD), the price it suggested it would hit back when it announced the ID. Life concept in 2021. That’s a steal compared to current low-end US EVs like the over-$28,000 Nissan Leaf. Meanwhile, Volkswagen’s most affordable American-sold electric car is the roughly $40,000 ID.4, despite having promised a more affordable car for so long. The company didn’t say what the cheaper follow-up model will be called, but adjusting the concept image VW included with its announcement exposes the name “ID.One,” as one Bluesky us...

European VC firm Emblem raises $85 million for its initial fund

Emblem, a relatively new European VC firm based in Paris, is announcing the final closing of its first fund. Eighteen months after the first closing, the Emblem team managed to secure €80 million in total (around $85 million at current exchange rates). This is no small feat in the current funding environment. According to Atomico’s latest State of European Tech report, in 2024, venture funding fell for the third year in a row. One of the main reasons for this is that acquisitions and IPOs aren’t really happening right now. As a result, VC as an investment category is less attractive than it used to be. Several VC firms are struggling to raise follow-on funds despite the current artificial intelligence boom, which could potentially represent a huge investment opportunity. But that ...
