Belgium set up around 1.8 GW of brand-new PV systems in 2015, according to brand-new figures from the Belgian association Energie Commune, which was previously referred to as Association belge put la Promotion des Energies Renouvelables (APERe).

Each of Belgium’s 3 macro-regions has its own specific regulative structure for solar and renewable resource.

Energie Commune stated the brand-new data are based upon provisionary information which another 200 MW of PV capability might still be missing out on, which suggests development for in 2015 might be even greater.

“The increase in energy and electrical power rates had a strong influence on Belgium, as many European nations, therefore inspiring some to purchase a setup photovoltaic,” the association stated. “The 3 Regions gained from a short-term decrease in the VAT rate to 6% for the purchase of a photovoltaic setup set up on domestic structures that are less than 10 years old.”
