Jayapal: GOP Weaponizing Antisemitism by Bringing Up Bills We’ll Vote Against

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Alex Wagner Tonight,” Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) specified that Republicans are “attempting to weaponize antisemitism” by bringing costs that divide Democrats on the topic, like the Antisemitism Awareness Act, up for a vote. Which if we wished to battle antisemitism “we would bring a bipartisan costs and we would have a whole of federal government technique that includes informing individuals about what antisemitism is and what it isn’t and making certain that we are all talking to one voice.”

Host Alex Wagner asked, “Do you have sort of a thesis regarding why the scope was so big?”

Jayapal reacted, “Yeah, Alex, I do, which is that, regrettably, I believe Republicans are attempting to weaponize antisemitism. They wish to bring costs to the flooring that really divide Democrats, and what we actually require to do, if we wish to deal with antisemitism, which I think every Democrat does wish to do and lots of Republicans, then we would do a– we would bring a bipartisan expense and we would have a whole of federal government method that includes informing individuals about what antisemitism is and what it isn’t and making certain that we are all talking with one voice. I believe it’s exceptionally upsetting to the reason for getting rid of antisemitism for Republicans to weaponize it and to be hypocrites about advancing something that is for pure political gain, not about battling antisemitism. That’s why I believe they brought this expense, due to the fact that they understood that it would not get complete Democratic assistance, since it does not get complete assistance from the Jewish neighborhood. It does not get complete assistance from individuals who have actually taken a look at this problem and stated we need to be extremely mindful about how we specify this, and specifically, by the method, this is being targeted and connected to academic funds that go to colleges. It has exceptionally crucial implications.”

The costs passed your home 320-91 with 133 Democrats ballot in favor of the expense in addition to 187 Republicans. The costs had 15 Democrats co-sponsoring it, in addition to 46 Republicans.
