Referee Marc Goddard shares surreal response to Max Holloway KO

In a current tweet, Goddard confessed that Holloway’s knockout simply feet in front of him shook him to the core.

I’m still speechless. Still have goosebumps. Both of these guys are the embodiment of our sport. Large class. What an opportunity.”

It takes a lot to shock Goddard, a long time UFC referee and a previous MMA fighter. He contended in Cage Warriors and Cage Rage before making the full-time shift to officiating.

No matter Goddard’s huge experience, Holloway’s knockout was a distinctive UFC minute. He made the most recent knockout in UFC history (R5, 4:59) at UFC 300.

Holloway’s success will likely be gone over for many years to come, and Goddard belonged of UFC history in officiating the battle. Goddard’s response reveals that even the most tenured specialists in MMA can be shocked by what transpires.
